Laughter Saves Lives, but money fills the tank. Thank you!
Howdy Humpers,
Happy April, my friends. It’s spring . . . the long winter is receding and the sun is shining once again! My thoughts are turning to laughter, because as you know . . .
I follow a Substack newsletter called Humour Scope written by Paddy Gilmore, a consultant to businesses wanting to use humor in their advertising. According to Paddy, some products are easier to laugh about than others, and opticians corner the market for humor. These two ads made me laugh out loud!
This is from a French TV show. The script reads: “This is me with my glasses… And this is me, without my glasses.”
Speaking of advertising, according to the National Day Calendar, April is Couple Appreciation Month!
The National Day Calendar Website is something else! As best I can determine, anyone can register a day and promote their product or interests. Apparently, somebody out in Mandan, North Dakota, came up with this idea for making money — probably one night when they couldn’t sleep from icicles cracking and crashing to the ground outside their window.
For each “holiday,” promoted on the website, bland words of advice are interspersed between moving, flickering, strobing pop-up ads. If you’re triggered by visual flashes, you’ll stroke out. If the ads flashed any faster, they would qualify as a subliminal perception brainwashing technique.
Maybe they already do because for some reason . . . I can’t stop thinking about . . .
Blue Moon Belgian White Beer.
Should I give it a try?
According to the website, here are some ways to improve your romantic connection with your partner. I hope you find this information helpful.

EVERYTHING IS ON SALE AT WILLIAMS SONOMA! JOIN NOW!
Most everything does seem to be on sale these days. That’s not unusual for America, but we may be running low on a few items. Compassion and empathy, in particular, seem to be in short supply. Dignity may have gone the way of the Dodo.
But hey, it’s April — a month renowned for love and renewal! Trees are bursting with buds. Flowers fill our pathways and vases. The birdy chorus filters into our open windows . . . and pollen covers every friggin’ surface like a blanket of green dandruff. Ironic that a month known for romance is tempered by the sudden onslaught of that most unromantic of ailments — allergies.
It’s hard to be a debonair, passionate kisser with clogged ears and a runny nose. But, according to Dr. Bobby Lazzara, thirty minutes of kissing can improve your allergies. So, go for it if you can find a willing partner who doesn’t mind a little drip on the lip.
But no matter what kind of issues with romance you may be having, forget the advice from the National Day Calendar. Barney Fife’s got the real scoop.
At the bottom of every post, please “like,” “share,” or “comment.” Your responses attract new readers, and I love hearing your thoughts about the posts!
Until next time, my friends . . . Get outside. Feel the sunshine on your beautiful faces. Dance to the rhythm of your extraordinary lives!

The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year. — Mark Twain
Fun stuff this week, Janna. The optician ad is a hoot. As for Barney and Goober, in today's world they'd probably get shot!
I love the French ad for glasses!
