Very insightful post, Janna. Personally, I can't imagine a billion dollars. Way too much for an old duffer like me. Also, too much responsibility...altho, on the other hand, it might be real nice!
Always did like Warren Buffet. Wish I had a joke for you. A joke for us all actually rather than the sad joke in charge of our country. You are one smart cookie. I always like how you back up your opinions with facts. You the best.
Thanks, Janna. Right on.i hope you guys are enjoying New Bern. I'm a bit jealous as I sit here listening about the latest govt. Gaff. But it's lovely here.
Thanks, Joyce. We are enjoying New Bern. It is lovely, but not "home." Still getting adjusted and figuring things out. We need to all get outside, don't we? Spring is the best!
I know things are really bad and frightening in the world right now.
I am not trying to be a "pollyanna." And I know for my own sanity, I need to cultivate Gratitude. David Stendl-Rast has a Gratitude website: Grateful.org
"It is not Joy that makes us grateful, it is Gratitude that makes us Joyful!"
I have found this quote to be extremely helpful in my life.
Wonderful quote and I completely agree. It’s not so much what is happening, but how we respond and, especially, the measures we take to manage our emotions. Thanks for reminding me!
It's chilling, isn't it? One made the comment that his "mother-in-law would not miss her social security payment if it was delayed," implying only people who are trying to cheat the system would complain. Of course, she wouldn't miss it! Surely, her billionaire son-in-law would help her out if needed.

Hard to fathom, isn't it? Think of all the good that could be done with all that moolah!
Who needs a billion dollars? No one, unless they are super alturistic. Taylor Swift comes close.
I think there are others, too, who do good things with enormous wealth, but totally agree! She's amazing.

Thank you, dear heart! I like Warren Buffet too.

And this is why we need each other!
Oligarchy, plain and simple
And those billionaires have zero understanding of the lives of the rest of the world.
