Well, this was an eye-opener (or an armpit sniffer). Who knew? Joan Baez said it - "Aging, it's just one insult after another, isn't it?" And I'll bet when she said that she didn't even know she smelled funny! oh me. Janna, I always learn something new from you!

When I first experienced " old people smell' I was 18 and an X-ray student. But then I experienced the same smell on a young person who was very ill. For me, it is a decay smell. I never knew there was a word for it.

Now, I wonder if I have it?

My mother is 105 years old. I have never smelled my mother. I wonder how old she will have to be to have an old people's smell.

What I loved is that the study revealed that older people have the LEAST offensive odor. It's different, but not worse. This is just another marketing ploy to make us feel ashamed of aging and desperate to do something about it. Frankly, I'm not willing to jump on the ice floe and float away to make room for someone deemed "more worthy" of taking up space.
